Scholarship Opportunities
Coming Spring 2019

Annually, the Saint Mary's Hospital Foundation awards a number of scholarships for students pursuing careers in finance or healthcare, in addition to those involved with the Foundation. The are also scholarships specifically open to Saint Mary's Hospital employees or immediate family members of Saint Mary's Hospital employees.

While the application season is not yet open, the Foundation encourages you to view the upcoming scholarships in the meantime.

Scholarships for Finance Majors

George Strobel, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund – Established in 2018 after the passing of the Chairman of the Saint Mary’s Hospital Foundation’s Board, George Strobel, Jr., this fund was established by an anonymous donor in his memory.  Individuals interested in majoring in the field of Finance and have been accepted to a college/university are eligible to apply.  Applicants will be reviewed and selected by Mrs. Elaine Strobel, George’s wife.  

Saint Mary’s Hospital Volunteer Fund

Harold Raceviicius Scholarship Fund – Created in 2016 in memory of Harold ‘Harry’ Raceviicius, an active volunteer and loved husband, this fund is to be used for active volunteers of Saint Mary’s Hospital (over the most recent two years) who are furthering their education in the medical field.

Colleague Scholarship Program

SMH Colleague Scholarship Fund - This scholarship program is open to all Saint Mary’s Health System Colleagues who are pursuing a degree (bachelor’s masters, or doctorate) in a field that will enable them to expand upon their education and experience for continued opportunities in their career choice. 


Dr. Mickey Wyse Memorial Scholarship Fund – This fund was created in 2018 after the passing of Saint Mary’s Emergency Department Physician, Dr. Mickey Wyse.  Mickey was loved by the entire Saint Mary’s Family, and was so supportive of his work family in every way.  In memory of him, this fund was created to provide educational opportunities to those aspiring to provide comfort and care to patients in a hospital setting by obtaining a degree in any medical field of study.  
 

Wamogo High School Student Fund

Allan and Mimi Rowe Scholarship Fund - This fund is restricted to graduating seniors from Wamogo High School who are seeking an education in the field of nursing.
