Dr. Paul Kelly graduated from Georgetown University and earned his medical degree at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. He has served as a director on the Saint Mary’s Hospital Foundation Board since 2007 and has been Chairman of the Board since 2010. Dr. Kelly completed his Internal Medicine residency and Cardiovascular fellowship at Strong Memorial Hospital of the University of Rochester in 1993. He was a member of the faculty at the University of Pennsylvania prior to joining the staff at Saint Mary’s in 1996. His clinical expertise includes the management of congestive heart failure, valvular heart disease and acute coronary syndromes. Dr. Kelly was named Chief of the Department of Cardiology at Saint Mary’s in 2014. In 2015 he was recognized by the Connecticut Hospital Association as a “Healthcare Hero” for his work with patients with congestive heart failure.

Dr. Kelly also serves as the Medical Director of the Malta House of Care, a mobile medical van staffed by volunteers providing healthcare to the uninsured.

He and his wife Karen have three children, Matthew, Brendan and Meagan.
