Memorial Gifts

Honoring a loved one with a memorial is a wonderful gesture with two benefits in one.  First, a memorial is a fitting honor of an individual or family’s good name.  Secondly, a memorial gift benefits the health care needs of our community.   Donors can elect to make a gift in honor or memory of a single person or a family and they can opt to have the gift used for a specific project, department or patient need.  There are naming opportunities within the hospital and the Foundation Office can help families identify a befitting the memorial.   All gifts and memorials are gratefully received and acknowledged in the Saint Mary’s Hospital annual report.

“Someday you will need nursing care, so hope that you get a caring nurse.”

That’s the greeting from Allan Rowe’s Christmas card last year. In an unprecedented act of generosity, this widower of an exceptional nurse, asked family, friends and acquaintances for donations to a nursing scholarship in his late wife’s name – and then matched each contribution personally.  Click here to read Allan's story.
