More than 200 golfers turned out under sunny skies to participate in the Saint Mary’s Hospital Foundation’s 16th Annual Champion Golf Classic. The tournament, held September 13 at the Country Club of Waterbury, was co-chaired by Lenny Genovese and Dr. Aziz Richi.
In the morning flight, Saint Mary’s own Michelle Godin won the longest drive for the ladies! Lezlye Zupkus, Director of Development for the Foundation provided these additional results:
For the morning flight, the winner of the tournament (first low gross) with a score of 60 was: Dan Cass, Michael Novak, John Sharp and Kyle Jurczyk. Second low gross with a score of 63 was Ron Cordeau, Larry Prus, Bob Cordeau and Kiok Kim.
Also in the morning, the first low net with a 56.8 was Gaetano Bimonte, Bob Swanson, Peter Spallino and Max Tripodi. The second net at 59.8 was Steve Shaker, Tony Ciocca, Ryan Tieman and Keith Neil.
In the afternoon, the winner of the tournament with a low gross score of 61 was Chad Wable, John Rak, Bill Cofrances and Ed Scannell.The second low gross of 62 was Peter Diorian, Bill Stevens, Dennis Strozzi and Don Schmidt. The first low net of 54.2 went to Dr. Ron Zlotoff, Aaron Fine, Sam Kowal and Will Magruder. The second low net with 55.8 was Chuck Harding, Frank Marci, Jake Sweeney and Mike Manzi. Dr. David Polke won closest to the pin in the afternoon on Hole #12.
