It All Comes Back to You...
Dear Friends and Family of Saint Mary’s Hospital,
We are pleased to report our most recent updates which highlight some of our many accomplishments over the past year. In fact, all of us at Saint Mary’s are working hard to improve the quality of care and service we provide to our patients, physicians and the Greater Waterbury community, which we have proudly served for more than 100 years.
At Saint Mary’s, we make quality our business each and every day. It’s not one person, or a small group, but all of us across our health system working together. And what we are hearing from our patients that we are making a difference. Our patient satisfaction scores improved four-fold this past fiscal year, and we are optimistic that the momentum we’ve generated will position us to produce further positive results through 2011.
If there is one area that best exemplifies our commitment, it is cardiac care. In 2010, Saint Mary’s was recognized once again by the American Heart Association with a Gold Award for providing the highest quality care to heart failure patients. We also hold Gold and Silver Awards for quality care for Coronary Artery Disease, making us one of the only hospitals in Connecticut to have achieved this level of recognition from the American Heart Association.
In addition, Saint Mary’s is ranked as the top-performing hospital in Connecticut for delivering life-saving care to heart attack patients. We consistently meet our goal of providing angioplasty for 100 percent of patients who need it in 90 minutes or less, which is the national standard for “door-to-balloon time.” Equally impressive, Saint Mary’s is in the top decile in the country for the national quality indicators for cardiac care, known as Core Measures.
Our commitment to quality cardiac care involves everyone at Saint Mary’s – our physicians, surgeons, nurses, technologists and support staff – and our patients and community are at the heart of our Mission. We simply could not provide these quality services without the support of community members like you.
