About the Foundation

Saint Mary’s Hospital mission for caring has long been recognized in the Waterbury Community.  With over 230,000 patient visits each year Saint Mary’s continues to provide the highest quality of health care to our friends, family and neighbors –without regard for income.

The Saint Mary's Hospital Foundation, Inc. was formed by friends of Saint Mary's Hospital more than 15 years ago to make possible Saint Mary's mission for caring. Last year, the Foundation allocated over $400,000 dollars for programs, patient care, new equipment and capital improvements in the hospital. Recently, funds raised by the Foundation enabled Saint Mary's to create Greater Waterbury's only Pediatric Emergency Care and Urgent Care Center, a special place for kids with child-friendly treatment rooms.

Tax-deductible gift opportunities
In addition to helping the community, your gift to Saint Mary's Hospital includes numerous opportunities to increase the return on your personal savings, reduce income taxes and avoid estate taxes. Gift programs include gifts of cash, stock, retirement accounts and legacy gifts in the form of bequests or memorials. Donors also may support the hospital by establishing creative planned gift programs that provide significant tax advantages. These options include remainder trusts, charitable gift annuities, life insurance plans and family funds.

Special events
Each year, the Saint Mary's Hospital Foundation hosts a number of special events to help bolster the community's support, including a now legendary annual gala in February, a spring phonathon, the Women fore Women golf tournament in June and the annual Dinner of Champions and Fall Golf Classic in September.   Click here for more details about upcoming special events.
